Classes 2 includes children in Years 3 and 4. The Teachers in Class 2 is Mrs Cookson and the Teaching Assistants are Mrs Cowap, Mrs Parks. and Mrs Dewar.

Harvesting Sunflower Seeds - posted 6th Sep

After our magnificent display of sunflowers, this week some of the girls in Class 2 harvested the seeds. They removed the sunflowers from the raised beds and broke up the dried flower heads to extract the seeds. The seeds will be used to create an amazing display next year.

Forest School - Year 3 - posted 22nd May

The children in Class 2 are thoroughly enjoying their time at Forest School. They have had a fantastic time exploring the forest. They have played games, gione on a bug hunt, built houses for the creatures that live in the forest, built shelters for themselves, made fairy doors and explored further a field using binoculars.

Ukelele Lessons - posted 8th May

The children in Class 2 are enjoying learning to play the Ukelele. They are having lessons for ten weeks and this culminates in them performing a concert to the rest of the school.

Year 3 & 4 Bikeability - posted 8th May

Today some of the children in Class 2 completed their Bikeability Level 1 training. They learnt how to prepare and control and ride their bikes safely. Despite the poor weather the children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and learnt a lot. Well done to them all.

Leonardo Da Vinci Fact Files and Posters - posted 6th Feb

Class 2's topic this term is 'Art on the Door Set' and they are studying the lives and works of famous artists including Leonardo Da VInci and Van Gogh. On 4th March they are visiting the National Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery to see their painting.s. In preparation for this, the children have been researching facts about Leonardo Da Vinci and have created posters using the facts they have learnt.

Class 2 Christmas Performance - Prickly Hay - posted 13th Dec

This week the children in Class 2 have been performing their Christmas Production 'Prickly Hay'. We were joined but many parents, family members and friends all of whom enjoyed a fantastic production. The children sung and played their parts brilliantly. Well done to everyone in Class 2.

Tending To Our Garden - posted 2nd Oct

Class 2 have been clearing the raised beds in preparation for next years planting. They also used canes to tie up the plants that were still alive and growing and removed the  seeds from the broad beans to plant next year. The healthy sunflower blooms were picked for display in the classroom and, where the sunflowers had died, the children picked out the seeds so they can be planted next year.

Visit to the Sealife Centre - posted 21st May

On Monday, as part of their Seas and Oceans topic, the children in Class 2 visited the Sea Life Centre in Birmingham. They saw many of the sea creatures they have been studying including sharks, jelly fish and sea horses. They also looked at their habitats and watched some of the fish being fed.

Weeding, Planting & Growing - posted 8th May

The children in Class 2, along with the children in CLass 1, have started  tending the vegetable beds, They have weeded the beds and have been planting vegetable plants that they have grown from seed. They are growing kale, potatoes, runner beans, cabbage, tomatoes and Brussel sprouts. Now they just need to make sure that they are watered regularly as the weather gets warmer.
