PE & Sport

In 2018/19 The Bramptons participated in 22 Sports Partnership inter-school competitions. These included Cross-Country, KS2 Cricket, Hockey, Gymnastics, Swimming, Year 5/6 Athletics,  and KS1 Superhero Festival. Despite competing against much larger schools, the children always showed perseverance and good sporting behaviour no matter where they finished in the competitions.

We also competed in the Pacesetter Games against other local schools in 2018/2019 and the events we participated in included Dodgeball, Year 3/4 Gymnastics, Year 1/2 Athletics, KS1 Unihoc, Year 5/6 Quicksticks Hockey, Year 3/4 Tag Rugby, and Year 5/6 Football.

During 2018/2019 92.9% of the children in KS2 took part in at least one Schools Partnership or Pacesetters Games competition and across all year groups 75% of children participated in an After School Sports Club.

In 2018/2019 sporting After School Clubs included Pacesetters Gym Club, Yoga Club, Cricket Club, Hockey Club, Hotsots Basketball Club and a Golf Club run by Brampton Heath Golf Club. We also continued with the Skip to be Fit Challenge where once a week the children take part in a challenge to improve their fitness by increasing the number of skips they can do in two minutes.

In 2018/2019 we were awarded the Gold School Games award and we are working to retain the Gold Award during 2019/2020.

In 2019/2020 we participated on the School Sports Partnership Level 2 Games which will contribute to us retaining our Gold Mark. We also have an active Sports Crew who, with the help of Mrs Going, organise a variety of lunchtime activities.. We are also looking at training some children in KS1 to be Play Leaders..
