The Full Governing Body has a strategic role and it acts as a critical friend to the school. It sets aims and objectives and reviews, agrees and monitors policies, targets and priorities. The Full Governing Body meets six times per year.

Caroline Petryszak

Caroline Petryzak

I have almost 30 years’ experience in education and entered the profession as a secondary-school teacher of Mathematics. Over the years, I have delighted in my time in the classroom but also in writing, tutoring, examining, volunteering and as a Governor at my daughters’ primary school.

My daughters are ‘grown up’ now so, after more than two decades in Cambridgeshire, the latter years of which were spent in academic and pastoral leadership, I am delighted to have moved to Northamptonshire (where we almost have hills!) and to take up leadership of Northampton High School as Headmistress.

It is a privilege to serve on the governing board at The Bramptons and to support John and the wider team in continuing to ensure that this school is the best that it can be and a wonderful environment for all.

Councillor James Hill

Vice Chair of Governors

I am delighted and proud to serve as a Governor for The Bramptons Primary School. I am currently employed as ICT Network Manager at The Ferrer’s Secondary School in Rushden and have worked in education, specifically ICT for over 13 years.

I grew up in both Northampton and Church Brampton and also live locally. I am married with 4 young children, 2 of whom currently attend the Bramptons Primary School. In 2015 I was successfully elected as a Councillor for Northampton Borough Council for which I will serve on for a minimum of 4 years.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends along with watching and playing Football. As Governor for the school I am keen to promote the idea that every child at the Bramptons should be given the opportunity to achieve their potential and be prepared for Secondary School and beyond.

Mr John Gillett

Head Teacher

I have had the privilege of being the Head Teacher at The Bramptons since September 2014. My working life started with 10years working in various jobs in business and industry. I went to university at 27, where I trained to be a Teacher. I worked at two challenging inner-city schools in Milton Keynes before moving to Northampton as Assistant Head of a town school.

A secondment as Head Teacher of Briar Hill convinced me that there was a place for my approach and ethos as Head Teacher and I was delighted to be appointed to the Bramptons, where I work with an exceptional team of people. Outside school, I am kept busy by family life, (Dad Taxi!),  my collection of interesting vehicles and my love of the mighty Saints!

Staff Governor (Co-opted)

I am the staff governor at the Bramptons where I currently teach three days a week in class 3. I have been teaching for 16 years and have been on the governing bodies of all four schools in which I have worked.

I have two children that attend a nearby primary school and enjoy cooking and walking my dogs in my spare time.

Mrs Lucienne Shakir

Chair of Governors

Formerly a parent governor at the school, I felt I had to apply to Chair the governing body because of my complete respect and admiration for the school's ethos, it's leadership, the staff and the children.

My background is in secondary education, which I left in 2019 to set up a business which coaches women in professional spheres. My experience of leadership in secondary schools, the ofsted inspection process and having a  Masters in Education has so far equipped me in supporting the school.

I have rarely come across a school so committed to the welfare and holistic development of its pupils. I remain dedicated to supporting the school's fantastic Head teacher, John Gillett and the other governors and staff in ensuring The Brampton's Primary school thrives for many years to come.

Chris Clyne

Mr Chris Clyne

I am delighted to have joined the Governing Body of The Bramptons Primary School. Living locally, the school’s approach to developing character virtues in pupils is what really resonated with me. I have overseen the implementation of a Character programme in my previous secondary school and my current school in Northampton, where I am Principal. I have been a Staff Governor in my previous school and am accountable to the Governing Body at my current school.

Outside of school I am kept very busy with 2 little kids, but when I get a chance, I am an avid sports fan. My two passions are Scotland Rugby team and Dundee United Football Club. They both test my character on a regular basis!
