The Full Governing Body has a strategic role and it acts as a critical friend to the school. It sets aims and objectives and reviews, agrees and monitors policies, targets and priorities. The Full Governing Body meets six times per year.

There are four Committees that report to the Full Governing Body; Finance and Personnel Committee, Standards Committee, Community and Safeguarding Committee and SEN (Special Education Needs) Committee.

Finance and Personnel Committee -. This Committee oversees the School’s long-term financial planning and financial policy and agrees the Annual Budget before recommending it to the Full Governing Body. It then monitors the budget and the income and expenditure of all public funds. Finance and Personnel Committee also has a responsibility for staffing matters at a strategic level.

Teaching & Learning and Safeguarding Committee - Teaching & Learning and Safeguarding Committee receives information about how the curriculum is taught, evaluated and resourced and ensures that it meets all statutory obligations at all times. It also receives regular updates in relation to the Special Educational Needs provision and monitors information about school performance and the School Development Plan. It also ensures that the school fulfils its statutory responsibilities in relation to Safeguarding and Health and Safety.. It ensures that staff have received the necessary training and that the necessary monitoring procedures are in place.

We currently have two vacancies for co-opted Governors. If you are interested in becoming a Governor please contact the school.

I am delighted and proud to serve as a Governor for The Bramptons Primary School. I am currently employed as ICT Network Manager at The Ferrer’s Secondary School in Rushden and have worked in education, specifically ICT for over 13 years.

I grew up in both Northampton and Church Brampton and also live locally. I am married with 4 young children, 2 of whom currently attend the Bramptons Primary School. In 2015 I was successfully elected as a Councillor for Northampton Borough Council for which I will serve on for a minimum of 4 years.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends along with watching and playing Football. As Governor for the school I am keen to promote the idea that every child at the Bramptons should be given the opportunity to achieve their potential and be prepared for Secondary School and beyond.

Mr John Gillett

Head Teacher

I have had the privilege of being the Head Teacher at The Bramptons since September 2014. My working life started with 10years working in various jobs in business and industry. I went to university at 27, where I trained to be a Teacher. I worked at two challenging inner-city schools in Milton Keynes before moving to Northampton as Assistant Head of a town school.

A secondment as Head Teacher of Briar Hill convinced me that there was a place for my approach and ethos as Head Teacher and I was delighted to be appointed to the Bramptons, where I work with an exceptional team of people. Outside school, I am kept busy by family life, (Dad Taxi!),  my collection of interesting vehicles and my love of the mighty Saints!
