Profiles
Martin Adamson -
Headteacher. Martin has been at The Bramptons since
September 2007. Married with three children of his
own, Martin has been in teaching for 16 years and
has worked in Hertfordshire and Northamptonshire
schools.
Martin values the small, family ethos of The
Bramptons but looks forward to the day when the
family is not that small!
Lesley Hunter is the
teaching staff representative on the Governors. She
also site on the Standards and
Community&Safeguarding committees.
In school she teaches Years 2 and 3 whilst also
being the school’s Numeracy Co-ordinator, SENCO and
Child Protection Officer. She also has
responsibility for PSHE, RE and Music.’

Julia
Schumacher-Smith is a parent governor
and lives in Chapel Brampton. Julia joined
the Governing Body in 2006 and works full
time for an economic regeneration company in
Northampton.
Julia attended the Bramptons Primary School
herself in the 70’s and is very proud that
her daughter attends the same school! Julia
chairs the school Community & Safeguarding
Committee, is vice-Chair and is also an
Early Years governor. |
Maria
Jackson is is a parent governor and lives in
Chapel Brampton. Maria joined the Governing Body in
2011 and works full time in a marketing management
position at Siemens Enterprise Communications.
Maria has two daughters, one at the Brampton's
Primary School, and a baby boy due in July 2011. She
is a member of the Standards Committee and is
committed to helping develop and support the school
for the benefit of all the pupils.
Kate Brades:
Parent Governor (Chair of Finance)
I have a son in Year 4 at The Bramptons. I also have
an 11 year old at ‘KC’ and an 18 year old at
Northampton College.
My background is financial, having worked in
accounts, banking and then running my own business
for the last twelve years.
Mrs Cooke - Associate
Governor: My name is Eileen Cooke and I am an
associate Governor of the school. I am now in my
second year of retirement, having worked in the
school for 18 years. My specialism is Early Years
and Key Stage 1. With over 30 years of experience in
these areas, I feel that I have the knowledge to
serve on the Governing Body. I still have the
interest of the children, and therefore the
children, at heart.
John
Hickman is a Community Governor. Born and bred
in Northampton and educated at Northampton Grammar
School for Boys.
John is retired. His career was in the NHS with the
Oxford Regional Health Authority mainly in planning,
and then in contracting and supplies. He qualified
as a further education lecturer in the 1970’s and
for many years was a part time lecturer in
Management Studies at Northampton College of
Technology.
John as been a Governor since 2005. He is a past
Chairman of the School’s Standards Committee. John
is dedicated to The Bramptons Primary School and its
future progress. His vision is to see the School
reach a stage in the future where it has a waiting
list for pupils
Diana
Hart joined the Governing body in Jan 2010 as a
Local Authority Governor. She currently serves on
two committees; Community and Safeguarding. She is
also the school’s safeguarding governor.
When not helping the school, Diana works as a
medical administrator having previously spent 30
years working in finance, latterly for a local
charity dealing with vulnerable children and
families.
Diana brings a wealth of experience to the Governing
Body and having also been a Parish Councillor for
Creaton for 10 years. She holds a firm belief that
everyone should get involved in helping their local
community and she "enjoys been part of such a
wonderful school."
Debbie
Rhodes is a Parent Governor who joined the
Governing Body last year. Debbie was born in
Northampton and lives in Kingsthorpe. She has 3
children, the youngest son is in Year 3 at The
Bramptons Primary School. She is also a member of
the Finance Committee.
Debbie is keen to support such a great village
school in all ways possible, working to help a
dedicated team continue their high standards into
the future.
